The Angola Police Department will be hosting a Citizen's Police Academy beginning September 8, 2022 at the Angola Police Department. The purpose of the academy is: Increase relationships between the community and law enforcement, Educate the public on the role of law enforcement officers in the criminal justice system, Provide education to the community on the daily requirements of officers and their role in assisting the community, Increase constructive communication between officers and citizens to create solutions toward the betterment of the City of Angola, and to create a positive partnership with the City of Angola and its citizens. The classes will meet once a week for 10 weeks, approximately 3 hours each session. Classes begin at 6:00pm and conclude at 9:00pm.
Qualifications to Apply:
- 21 years of age or older
- No felony convictions
- No misdemeanor convictions within the past 3 years
- Pass a background check conducted by the City of Angola
- Desire to understand more about the Angola City Police Department and their responsibilities for public safety.
Requirements of the program:
- Ability to attend all sessions
- Active involvement in academy activities
- Desire to assist with future department events and programs within the community.
